Dave Thursday 11/9

What a day. It seems as thought the team is going in many different directions today.  People are in the distribution center, the kitchen and at several job sites.

Because of generous donations, we were able to take the head of the kitchen out to a resturaunt store and purchase items to help her in feeding the volunteers. The joy on her face was well worth it.

I was able to go to a house next  door to the camp and see the work being done. The photos of the house are on the webpage for 11/9. This house will be quite some work. The gentleman who lives there stayed in the bathroom since Katrina.

I get messages that many of our friends and coworkers are reading the postings. I hope the journal and photos will make you think about coming here and lending a hand. I hear rumblings of a trip for spring? Go for it!

Dave - You are right that many of us are reading everyone's postings ... often with tears in our eyes. We are so proud of everything you all are doing. It is clear this is a life-changing trip. I pray I will be able to make a similar one soon. You are all in our prayers daily.

Everyone here at CAI is thinking about you daily. We are so proud of all of you for the generosity of time that you are showing. What I find amazing is the amount of devastation that still exists. Over one year after the storm and someones house is still in shambles. I don't believe that we have the full impact of the amount of work that must be done. God bless you all and we'll see you when you get home.
