Patterns of Childhood Obesity Prevention Legislation in the United States, an article in the July 2007 edition of Preventing Chronic Disease, tracks proposed and adopted childhood obesity prevention bills and resolutions in all fifty states from 2003-2005. Legislation related to school vending machines, physical activity in schools as well as community-wide healthy living initiatives were the focus of this article. 717 bills and 134 resolutions related to this obesity prevention were included in this analysis. In an editorial titled Do Public Schools Provide Optimal Support for Children With Diabetes?, also in the July 2007 issue of Preventing Chronic Disease, researchers present results from a survey of school faculty and staff in Oregon related to diabetes management in schools.
